He suggested that I try many different leaves from the garden, cooking them down to render the colorant. This plant I have not yet identified but it grows profusely in my garden in Central Java and produces a lovely blue-grey color w Silk scarves colored in natural dyes obtained  garden plants, then designs applied with wax by brush
These colors were all produced from plants found  in my garden. Scarves  colored again in a cold natural dye bath,  the wax removed in boiling water. Bamboo motif applied with melted wax and a brush.
Multiple dips into an indigo dye bath produce very rich deep colors. The cloth is immersewd into the indigo vat, then removed to oxidize. My garden in the rainy season.
